Bellingham man pleads guilty to child sexual assault

BELLINGHAM, WA (MyBellinghamNow.com) – A Bellingham man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing two girls he knew over several years.

Brian Drake, 32, pleaded guilty to aggravated rape, sexual abuse and incest of a child in Whatcom Superior Court last Thursday, August 22.

He initially faced 13 charges, but as part of the agreement he pleaded guilty to only three counts.

According to court documents, the two victims, now adults, told investigators last year that Brian and his brother Aaron repeatedly sexually molested and raped them when they were children. The alleged abuse occurred between 2002 and 2009 at the Drakes' Bellingham home, although Brian Drake only pleaded guilty from 2004 to 2009.

Drake was arrested in September 2023 and is being held in the Whatcom County Jail on $350,000 bail.

His sentencing is scheduled for October 17 and he faces a life sentence in prison.

Aaron Drake is currently in the Yellowstone County Detention Center in Montana facing charges of sexually assaulting another young girl he knew.
