Marinette County man charged with multiple counts of child pornography

MARINETTE COUNTY, Wis. (WLUC) – Marinette County District Attorney DeShea Morrow announced Wednesday that a Porterfield man has been charged with multiple counts of possession of child pornography.

The charges came following an investigation by the Marinette Police Department and the Wisconsin Department of Justice Division of Criminal Investigations.

According to the criminal complaint filed by the Marinette County District Attorney's Office, in December 2023, Marinette Police received information that suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM) was found on electronic devices owned by Brian Tornberg.

Marinette police obtained a search warrant for the electronic devices. A Wisconsin Department of Justice Criminal Investigation analyst conducted an analysis of the devices and confirmed the presence of images of child pornography on a device belonging to Tornberg.

Tornberg was taken into custody and appeared for a bail hearing before the Honorable Peggy Miller on August 27.

District Attorney DeShea Morrow asked for a $10,000 bail with conditions, including refraining from unsupervised contact with minors.

Morrow says the charges against Tornberg are mere allegations and he is presumed innocent on all counts until proven guilty.

The Marinette Police Department investigated this case with assistance from the Wisconsin Department of Justice, the Marinette County Attorney's Office, and the Marinette County Department of Health and Human Services.
