Man with previous rape conviction charged with sexual assault

CANANDAIGUA, NY – A man is behind bars after having sex with a girl under the age of 15, according to Ontario County Sheriff's officials.

Officials said they arrested Daniel L. Sevigny on Tuesday for sexual assault.

Their investigation revealed that Sevigny had sex with a girl under the age of 15 on multiple occasions between June and August of this year. Officials say the sexual assault charge stems from a previous conviction for rape.

Sevigny was arraigned in CAP Court. He was remanded to the Ontario County Jail without bail.

A protective order was issued for the victim.
