Man from Poultney arrested for grievous bodily harm after argument

POULTNEY – Vermont State Police have arrested a 66-year-old Poultney man on aggravated assault charges after he fired a firearm during a neighborly dispute on Aug. 19.

Troopers from the Vermont State Police-Rutland Barracks were called to a civil dispute in Poultney at 1:51 p.m. Upon arrival, they made contact with both parties, the defendant, Kevin Flynn, and Richard Laird, a 53-year-old resident of West Palm Beach, Florida.

The investigation revealed that Flynn fired a gun after a brief argument with Laird over a property matter.

Flynn was taken into custody and his complaints were filed with the Castleton Police Department.

He was later held without bail at the Marble Valley Correctional Facility.

Flynn was sent a subpoena to appear in court at a later date to face the charges.
