Woman charged with stabbing in Hanover

A 36-year-old woman with no fixed address is being charged with allegedly stabbing a man several times in Hanover during the night from Tuesday to Sunday.

Local police said they responded to a disturbance at a residence on 10th Avenue around 9 p.m.

When officers arrived, they found that an acquaintance of the man had suffered multiple stab wounds to the face and neck.

Officers found the woman attempting to leave the scene and took her into custody without incident.

The man was taken to Hanover District Hospital, where his injuries were treated and he was later released.

Hanover police charged the woman with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, dangerous possession of a weapon and four counts of probation violation. She was held in custody pending her bail hearing on Wednesday.
