Harris County man arrested on three counts of sexual abuse of child caught meeting undercover agent

A Harris County man is in custody after being arrested for multiple sex crimes against children. He was arrested after arranging a meeting with an undercover police officer.

Hernan Duarte, 35, of Harris County, was booked into the Montgomery County Jail and charged with three counts of sexual abuse of a child and one count of indecent conduct with a child. Montgomery authorities say additional charges are pending once Duarte's possible additional victims are identified.

Duarte first came onto authorities' radar after an initial victim was questioned in Conroe. Further investigation revealed that he was meeting with juveniles in The Woodlands and other counties.

Duarte began conversations with young girls through social media and arranged meetings where sexual activities took place. Investigators believe all of his victims were under the age of 15.

He was eventually arrested by authorities after initiating a meeting at a park in The Woodlands with a detective posing as a minor. When he arrived at the agreed location, he was taken into police custody.
