Man evacuated by helicopter after motorcycle accident in Ellendale on Wednesday – First update from the state

Delaware State Police are investigating a serious motorcycle crash that occurred Wednesday morning in Sussex County.

The accident occurred around 11:15 a.m. at the intersection of Hummingbird Road and Holly Tree Road in Ellendale.

The incident involved a male motorcyclist who reportedly struck another vehicle in a T-bone collision. Emergency services, including the Ellendale Fire Department, Sussex County paramedics and Delaware State Police Aviation Trooper 2, arrived at the scene.

The driver, who suffered serious injuries, was flown by Trooper 2 to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center in critical condition.
