Accident at Beaumaris Pier: Three dead after collision

According to police, three people were killed in a road accident in North Wales.

It happened on Wednesday afternoon near Beaumaris Pier on Anglesey.

“We are appealing to any witnesses to the incident who have not yet spoken to officers, or anyone who may have dashcam footage, to please come forward,” said Ch Insp Caroline Mullen-Hurst.

North Wales Police said officers were still investigating the exact circumstances of the incident and urged members of the public to avoid the area of ​​the High Street as it is expected to remain closed for some time.

Local MP Llinos Medi described the incident as “catastrophic news.”

“I am thinking of everyone affected today. This news has shocked our community here on the island,” she said.

Rhun ap Iorwerth, leader of Plaid Cymru and member of the Senedd for Ynys Môn, where the incident occurred, urged people to follow police advice and avoid the area.

“This is devastating news and my sincere condolences go out to those affected and their families,” he said.

A police spokesman said officers were on the scene along with firefighters, an ambulance and a rescue helicopter.

The Welsh Ambulance Service said it was called to the scene of the accident shortly before 2.45pm (BST) on Wednesday.

Beaumaris is located in the east of the island of Anglesey and is a popular holiday destination. Many tourists visit the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Beaumaris Castle or the nearby Puffin Island.
