2 minors come forward against Middlesex man accused of sexual assault

MIDDLESEX COUNTY, NJ — A Spotswood man is facing additional sexual assault charges after more underage victims of abuse came forward, said Middlesex County Prosecutor Yolanda Ciccone and Spotswood Police Detective Capt. Edward Schapley.

Raymond Remus, 45, was arrested on August 22 and charged with first-degree aggravated sexual assault, second-degree sexual assault and second-degree endangering the welfare of a child.

Det. John Fedak of the Spotswood Police Department and Det. Ryan Kirsh of the Middlesex County District Attorney's Office began investigating the allegations.

Two other minors were identified and, based on further investigation, Remus was additionally charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault and two counts of third-degree endangering the welfare of a child based on sexual conduct with a minor under the age of 18, Ciccone said.

There is no further information about when and where the attack took place.

Remus is currently being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending his detention hearing.
