Plano man found dead, suspect arrested at DFW Airport

PLANO, Texas – Police are investigating a murder at a home in Plano.

Firefighters were first called to the home on Bending Oak Trail, in a neighborhood near Hedgcoxe Road and Ohio Drive, around 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

“We were dispatched with the fire department. When officers arrived, the fire department determined that the person found in the backyard was dead,” said Officer Jennifer Chapman, a spokeswoman for Plano police.

She said officers worked through the night and arrested a suspect at DFW Airport on Wednesday morning.

The police have not yet released any further information about the victim and the suspect. Both are men.

Chapman confirmed that the two men knew each other, but said it was neither an incident of domestic violence nor a shooting.

“The victim and the suspect knew each other and this was not a random act of violence,” she said.

The Collin County Coroner is still working to determine the victim's cause of death.
