Temple Israel Brotherhood hosts election rally on September 16

CANTON – State Rep. Jim Thomas of the 49th District and his challenger Krista Allison will hold a question-and-answer session during the Temple Israel Brotherhood’s annual election reception on Sept. 16.

Other candidates at the state and district level will also speak.

The reception will be held at Beit Ha'am (House of the People), 432 30th St. NW. There will be a dessert reception at 7 p.m. for $20 per person, with all proceeds benefiting Temple Israel Sisterhood's social projects. Attendees of the dessert reception will be guaranteed a seat for the question-and-answer session and speeches, which begin at 8 p.m.

To reserve and pay for tickets to the dessert reception, visit www.templeisraelcanton.org/brotherhood. Payment will also be accepted at the door, but seating is not guaranteed.

Free, limited seating for the speeches will be available starting at 7:50 p.m. Those interested in open seating should line up under the parking canopy.

Both Thomas and Allison are residents of Jackson Township.

Allison, a Democrat, is an education consultant at the Stark County Educational Service Center. Thomas, a Republican, assumed the state post after defeating Thomas West in the 2022 election.
