Hialeah couple found dead in apartment after murder-suicide – NBC 6 South Florida

Police have identified the man and woman found dead in a Hialeah apartment Tuesday following a suspected murder-suicide.

Hialeah police said Wednesday that Clifford Renard Murray III, 28, and Rosemary Gutierrez, 27, were in a relationship and living with their three-year-old son.

The toddler is safe and sound after being found along with the bodies of his parents in the apartment at 605 West 68th Street in Hialeah around 6 p.m. on Tuesday.

Hialeah police said they were called to a domestic incident at the home after the woman's sister went to the apartment because she hadn't heard from her in days.

When she went to the front door and knocked, no one answered, but she heard her nephew crying inside and called the police.

The officers had to force their way into the apartment. There they found the two bodies.

The boy was found unharmed but taken to hospital as a precaution, police said. Neighbors said he was dirty and offered him water.

A resident said she heard gunshots early Saturday morning but did not call police because she was unsure where the shots were coming from.

Police did not say how long the toddler was alone or when his parents died.

“We're still in the process of maybe interviewing neighbors or someone else. We still need to check cell phone usage and things like that so we can better understand when the incident occurred. But obviously the child was in the house at the time it happened, so our priority right now is the child,” said Lt. Eddie Rodriguez.

The boy is in the custody of the Florida Department of Children and Families.

Neighbors told NBC6 that the man and woman were a very quiet couple who lived there for several years and kept to themselves.

Detectives could be seen at the crime scene conducting their investigations.
