According to reports, a man from Norwich fired a gun near an apartment building

NORWICH, CT — A Norwich man is accused of firing a gun several times in the area around his home while drunk, WTNH News-8 reports.

Police responded to a call at an address on Stonington Road at 7 p.m. Monday after receiving calls from residents about the shooting.

When police arrived, they heard six shots. Residents were asked to stay at home.

As WFSB 3-TV reported, officers later came into contact with the drunk man.

Brian Burgess, 33, was arrested. No one was injured.

He was held on $150,000 bail and charged with disturbing the peace, unlawful discharge of a weapon, first-degree reckless endangerment and carrying a firearm while intoxicated.
