Update (August 28, 2024): Lil Rod does not give in. After Diddy filed a motion to dismiss his $30 million lawsuit against the disgraced founder of Bad Boy Records, Little Rod talks about what life is like after being accused Diddy drugged and sexually harassed him. He said of Diddy in an interview with Rolling Stone Tuesday (27 August),

“He is a monster. He will do whatever it takes to get exactly what he wants. He won't take no for an answer. He [told me] himself: “I'm going to punch my mom.” Anyone who can even say that as a joke is a monster. He's not to be messed with. For someone whose brand is Love Records, who changed his name to Love and named his child Love, he's not showing love. He's just marketing.”

Little Rod

Little Rod opened at a time when he was at Diddy's home for Thanksgiving dinner and noticed that everyone present had signed a non-disclosure agreement. He claimed that Diddy invited him and someone named DeForrest to the toilet and invited her to take cocaine, which Little Rod said he was afraid of it. He added that he believed he had been blacklisted in the industry because Diddy's influence.

“Because of this lawsuit, most people don't want to work with me for whatever reason, whether they've worked with Puff before or they just want to sit back and wait and see what happens.”

“He's a gatekeeper of the music industry. To be successful in this industry, you have to have worked with someone like him or Jay-Z, Dr. Dre, Kanye or 50 Cent. So many people I've worked with have had deals with him. I've tried to get a deal for my album, but people don't want to get involved.”

Little Rod

He wrote T-Pain, with whom he had previously worked, when he was there for him when the singer of “Buy UA Drank” invited him to be the bandleader for his performance at the Juneteenth Hollywood Bowl. But even there Little Rod said he was afraid to go anywhere alone because the aftermath of the legal battle had affected his mental health and safety.

“But at this show, I had a few nervous breakdowns. I almost felt like it was too soon for me to go back out and work. My anxiety was limitless. I saw different guys backstage that I didn't know and I got scared. I wondered where the security people were. That made me very uncomfortable. It's not a good feeling to wonder if someone was there to attack me.”

“I have three therapists. Everyone has seen Cassie's video. That's the person I'm dealing with.”

Diddy

He confessed that it had become so bad that he considered ending his life.

“I'm broke. I have no source of income right now. Every month I'm trying to figure out how to pay the bills. Here I am, standing up for justice, for what I believe is right, and being punished for it. I'm definitely blacklisted. I've had many nights, weeks and months of suicidal thoughts. It's music that has kept me alive my whole life.

Erika Wolff, a speaker for Diddy has since responded to Lil Rods Interview in which he explains,

“Mr. Jones' lawsuit is pure fiction – a shameless attempt to create a media frenzy and get a quick settlement. There was no RICO conspiracy and Mr. Jones was not threatened, manipulated, attacked or trafficked. We look forward to proving in court that all of Mr. Jones's allegations are fabricated and must be dismissed.”

Original story (August 26, 2024): Diddy and his legal team are defending themselves against a lawsuit filed by his former employee and producer Rodney “Lil Rod” Jones.

According to reports Diddy and his legal team filed a motion to dismiss the Lil Rods Complaint filed today (August 26) in federal court in Manhattan.

Diddy

In the lawsuit, filed in February, Little Rod accused Diddy of sexual harassment, drugging and threats while working for the music mogul from September 2022 to November 2023. He is demanding $30 million in damages.

Little Rod

While Diddy and his lawyers have since denied the allegations, stating in their latest motion, Lil Rods Lawsuit is just an attempt to reach a quick settlement by damaging the reputation of the “Act Bad” artist. In another lawsuit filed in March, Little Rod also accused Diddy of being part of a “RICO enterprise” and said he was involved in a “sex trafficking enterprise.”

However, Diddy's A recent motion states that the complaint does not provide substantive details that would establish the criteria for a RICO case and that the allegations are vague.

The motion reads:

“It is almost 100 pages long and contains countless tall tales, shameless mentions of famous people and irrelevant pictures.”

Diddy and his team also argued that Little Rod has never accurately described the alleged sexual assault and harassment he suffered while working for the record executive.

In response Lil Rods Lawyer, Tyrone Blackburnexplained,

“This is clearly a score-settling exercise by people who are late to the case and are trying to line their pockets before their client is charged.”

While Diddy's Lawyer said in a statement,

“Mr. Jones' lawsuit is pure fiction – a shameless attempt to create a media frenzy and reach a quick settlement. There was no RICO conspiracy, and Mr. Jones was not threatened, manipulated, attacked, or trafficked.”

She added:

“We look forward to proving in court that all of Mr. Jones’ claims are fictitious and must be dismissed.”
