Teenage cyclist injured in dump truck accident in New City

Kenworth dump truck involved in collision that injures teenage cyclist at corner of South Main and First Streets

NEW CITY, NEW YORK (August 27, 2024) – A 13-year-old boy was seriously injured in an accident involving a dump truck in New City at the corner of South Main and First Streets.

New City police said the collision occurred around 2:10 p.m. Wednesday. The cyclist was traveling north on South Main Street when he was struck by a dump truck traveling in the same direction.

Firefighters and paramedics were called to the scene to assist the victim. He was taken to Westchester Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the dump truck remained on site and cooperated with police. The investigation is currently ongoing.
