Child Care Partners reopens building destroyed by micro explosion

WICHITA FALLS, Texas (KAUZ) – Child Care Partners’ Huey Learning Center finally reopened today after its roof, walls and more were destroyed in a microburst in August 2023.

CCP and the Wichita Falls Chamber Goldcoats met for the ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday, August 27th at 4 p.m.

The nonprofit is excited to help even more children now that its center is ready to reopen on Sept. 4. Executive Director Keri Goins said they can't wait.

“Due to transportation issues, we were not able to care for as many children as usual. Now we can finally care for a maximum number of children again. We look forward to opening our doors to even more children,” said Goins.

CCP still needs supplies for Huey. If you would like to contribute supplies or donations, links can be found here.
