Monroe Nichols and Karen Keith reach runoff for mayoralty in Tulsa

State Representative Monroe Nichols and Tulsa County Commissioner Karen Keith each received 33% of the vote for Tulsa mayor, setting up a runoff election in November.

Brent VanNorman received 32%, just 400 votes behind Keith.

The main issues on the ballot included the election of Tulsa Mayor, the election of Tulsa County Commissioner for the 2nd District (both Democrat and Republican), and the Tulsa City Council election.

Mayor of Tulsa

Monroe Nichols and Karen Keith will face a runoff in November; both received 33% of the vote. Brent VanNorman received 32% of the vote.

Tulsa County Commissioner, District 2 – The

Sarah Gray wins against Maria Barnes with 59% of the vote.

Tulsa County Commissioner, District 2 – GOP

Lonnie Sims defeats Melissa Myers with 55% of the vote.

Tulsa City Council – District 1

Vanessa Hall-Harper wins with 67% of the vote against Angela Chambers.

Tulsa City Council – District 2

A runoff election will take place between Anthony Archie and Stephanie Reisdorph after neither received half of the votes cast.

Tulsa City Council – District 3

Jackie Dutton wins against Susan Frederick with 53.8% of the vote.

Tulsa City Council – District 4

Laura Bellis wins against Aaron Griffith with 77% of the vote.

Tulsa City Council – District 5

Karen Gilbert wins against Alicia Andrews with 64% of the vote.

Tulsa City Council – District 6

Christian Bengel wins with 70% of the vote against Uriah Davis.

Tulsa City Council – District 7

There is a runoff election between Lori Decter Wright and Eddie Huff because neither received 50% of the vote.

Tulsa City Council – District 8

Phil Laken wins against Chris Cone with 69% of the vote.

Tulsa City Council – District 9

Carol Bush and Jayme Fowler will face each other in a runoff election, with Julie Dunbar coming third.

There was also a runoff election for Wagoner County Sheriff on Tuesday.

Wagoner County Sheriff – GOP

Chris Elliott won the office of Wagoner County Sheriff in a close race with 4,326 votes, while Tyler Cooper received 4,291 votes.

Pawnee County Sheriff – GOP

Sheriff Darrin Varnell lost his re-election bid to Shawn Price on Tuesday night. Both received about 35% of the vote in June, forcing a runoff.

Mayor of McAlester ✅

McAlester voters have elected Justin Few as the city's new mayor. Candidate Randy Roden announced over a week ago that he was dropping out of the race for health reasons. Few received 51% of the vote. Kevin Beaty had 41.5%.
