American Idol's Scotty McCreery quits show after seeing man hit woman

Scotty McCreery does not tolerate violence at its shows.

The American Idol A former student interrupted his performance of his song “It Matters to Her” during a show at the Colorado State Fair over the weekend after witnessing a man allegedly attacking a woman in the crowd.

“Here, this is a woman you just hit, sir,” Scotty said in a video of the concert shared on Facebook on August 27. “No way, you just hit the woman.”

The “Five More Minutes” singer pointed to a person in the audience, called for police in the building and asked, “Is she OK? Get out of here.”

And as he waited for security to escort the man out of the venue, Scotty made it clear that he would not tolerate such behavior.

“On God's green earth. At a Scotty McCreery show?” asked the 30-year-old. “What are you doing?”

Scotty added: “This is absolutely unacceptable.”
