Cincinnati-based Comey and Shepherd Realtors and Christopher Pfeiffer announced a contract with Louisville-based Galaxie and Blue Bridge Holdings, LLC to redevelop the facility.

The project is underway with Core Resources conducting a complete redevelopment of the unfinished garage space and aging retail space and is expected to be completed this fall.

“A successful downtown should offer entertainment options that appeal to a diverse audience,” said Covington Mayor Joe Meyer. “This sounds like a great concept and is a good fit for this area, which already has a variety of popular nightlife spots like the Madison Theater, Braxton Brewery, Second Story and Zapata, to name a few.”

The site is one block south of Pike & Madison, an area of intense redevelopment that includes North by Hotel Covington in the former YMCA building, the conversion of the former Landwehr Hardware building into new apartments, and Blue North's startup hub in the former Sims Furniture building, scheduled to open in 2025.

“815 Madison offers many opportunities for continued growth and development in the Covington urban core. Galaxie in Louisville has been incredibly successful and is bringing its entertainment concept to Covington as part of its growth strategy in Kentucky,” said Christopher Pfeiffer, managing director of The Pfeiffer Group and real estate agent for Comey and Shepherd Realtors.

The project includes a new bar and restaurant, as well as a live music space in a unique and versatile environment.

“Galaxie is a modern take on the classic neighborhood pub,” said Thor Morgan, owner of Galaxie. “We are excited to expand our interstellar brand to the Cincinnati area and join the momentum of Covington's redevelopment. This fall, guests will be introduced to our incredible margaritas, creative menu and eclectic live music.”
