Home and Away star releases final farewell message after tragic departure

Home and Away spoiler Follow Australian-paced episodes that some UK viewers may prefer to avoid.

Home and Away actress Jacqui Purvis has posted a farewell letter on social media after the final scenes of her character Felicity Newman aired in Australia.

Felicity suffered a sudden nervous breakdown last week and it was soon discovered that she had a brain aneurysm and was declared brain dead. In this week's episode, her family will make the tragic decision to turn off her life support. Upcoming funeral scenes will see the return of her foster father Gary.

Purvis shared a compilation video on her Instagram page that features numerous clips of her and her fellow cast and crew goofing around on set.

In the caption, she wrote: “What a life!! Thank you @homeandaway for three incredible years. It's been really fun.”

“This is just a small snippet of the love I have for the cast and crew. Many people will be missed.

“There are too many people I have to thank, but the most important thing is [Ethan Browne] for helping to create a beautiful love story. And to the fans for their unwavering support. Thank you for letting Flick into your homes. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

Tane Parata (Felicity's ex-husband) actor Browne commented on the post, saying: “What a journey! You brought Tanicity to life and brought a thunderous energy to the bay! Thank you for sharing it with us all. You will be sorely missed my friend.”

Home and Away airs weekdays at 1.45pm on Channel 5, with repeats at 6pm on 5STAR and first previews at 6.30pm on 5STAR. Selected classic episodes are available via Prime Video in Great Britain.

In Australia, the show airs Monday to Thursday at 7pm on Channel 7 and is streamed on 7Plus.
