Shots fired at soldiers guarding the conscription office in Lutsk

(MENAFN-UkrinForm) Soldiers guarding a local draft board in the city of Lutsk came under armed attack.

This was reported by the Operational Command West on Facebook, Ukrinform reports.

“In the early hours of August 27, an as yet unidentified perpetrator opened fire on the guard post of the conscription center in Lutsk. A high-ranking soldier was injured in the attack. He is currently being treated in hospital,” the report said.

The command found that the soldiers returned fire, but the perpetrator was able to flee the scene and is still at large.

The guards are soldiers with combat experience who were transferred to rear service after being wounded on the battlefield.

“Personnel have been ordered to shoot the perpetrator if his life is in danger,” the command said.

An investigation has been launched into the assassination attempt on a military personnel.
