Guest attacked with steak knife in restaurant dispute over spilled wine, caught on video

According to police in New Jersey, a Florida man pulled out a steak knife and lunged at another customer during a heated argument over spilled wine at a restaurant… and the whole thing was caught on video!!!

The video begins with a restaurant manager trying to calm down two people at neighboring tables … and a guy in a white shirt, who police say ends up suffering a knife wound, tells the other group, “You shouldn't be taking medicine and drinking martinis.”

The man can be heard egging on the other table, telling them, “Guys, take it easy with the old booze.”

A woman at the next table tells the guy it was just an accident. The man in white waves to his dinner date and replies, “An accident is the reason her whole back is covered in wine.”

The argument continues when the man turns around, looks at a guest at the next table and asks: “Do you have a knife in your hand?”

Immediately, the guest stands up … and the video shows him lunging at the man in white, grabbing him with his left hand and holding the knife in his right hand.

The man with the knife – dressed in blue – is effortlessly knocked onto his backside, and people rush to separate the two men… while shocked patrons scream for someone to call the police.

Rumson police say the 75-year-old David Gulley of Palm Beach Shores, FL, is the man in blue in the video… and he is accused of pulling out a steak knife and lunging at the other man.

Police arrested Gulley for aggravated assault, illegal possession of a firearm, terroristic threats, disturbing the peace and simple assault… and he has since been released from custody.

Police also say the man in white suffered cuts to his finger during the incident but refused treatment.
