Glen Powell reacts hilariously to the comparison between him and Ryan Gosling

Glen Powell gives credit where it is due.

The “Twisters” actor responded on Tuesday to a report in which an unnamed Hollywood producer was quoted as saying that Powell would appeal to both male and female audiences, compared to Hollywood heavyweight Ryan Gosling, “whose appeal is mainly limited to the female audience.”

“Gosling is a legend,” Powell wrote on his X-page in response to the article. “I'm just Glen.”

The last part of his comment was a sly reference to Gosling's Oscar-nominated “Barbie” role, Ken, as well as the song “I'm Just Ken” from the film, which was also nominated for an Oscar last year. (“Barbie” was produced by Warner Bros. Pictures, which is owned by CNN parent Warner Bros. Discovery.)

There is no doubt that Powell is one of the rising movie stars after appearing alongside Tom Cruise in the hugely popular sequel to Top Gun: Maverick in 2022.

Powell's latest film, “Twisters,” has grossed nearly $350 million at the worldwide box office, making it a strong follow-up to “Anyone But You,” the 2023 romantic comedy in which he starred alongside Sydney Sweeney, which grossed $220 million worldwide.

Next, he is preparing to begin production on “Running Man,” a remake of the 1987 film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, based on the Stephen King novel about a contestant on a deadly game show.

There's also no question that Gosling, a three-time Oscar nominee, has already made a name for himself as a leading man in Hollywood, so we assume that people – of all genders – already know and appreciate his credibility.

However, the comparison raises the question: Can You do you feel the … Glenergy?
