Fatal car accident on August 25 claims one life

On August 25, 2024 at approximately 2:14 p.m., North Little Rock Police responded to a fatal crash in the area of ​​10000 Crystal Hill Road.

When officers arrived, they found that two occupied vehicles were involved in the accident. One of the vehicles was occupied by 63-year-old James Burgess of Conway; he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other vehicle was driven by a 31-year-old man who was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

Detectives from the North Little Rock Police Department arrived on scene to begin the investigation and determined that the other driver was responsible for the accident because he failed to negotiate a curve, causing his vehicle to leave the road and strike Burgess's car.

As the investigation progresses, investigators will review all evidence, statements and facts and coordinate with the Pulaski County District Attorney's Office to determine what criminal charges will be filed.
