Woman shot in her home during argument in Camden County

A Camden County man has been charged after investigators say he fired a gun during an argument and the bullet struck an innocent woman in a nearby home.

Francisco Griffin, 51, was charged with possession of a firearm, illegal possession of a firearm, aggravated assault and property damage.

Officers with the Gloucester City Police Department were called to the 600 block of Hunter Street around 11 p.m. Monday for a report of a shooting.

Investigators say Griffin was arguing with another person when he fired a gun and the bullet entered a nearby home, striking a 67-year-old woman.

The woman was taken to Cooper University Hospital, where her condition stabilized, according to police.

Griffin was charged Tuesday and taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility to face a detention hearing.
