Sony Pictures

The Blake Lively/Justin Baldoni Movie It ends with us was a huge success, but could off-screen drama between the leading actress and her co-star, the producer and director, stop the two from reuniting for the drama's sequel?

The $25 million film's box office revenue could rise to $300 million by the end of its run. diversity According to estimates, the film has become the highest-grossing project for both lead actors – and will bring a fortune to Baldoni's production company Wayfarer Studios.

There is even a follow-up book to the original by Colleen Hoover called It starts with uswhich could technically spawn a sequel.

However, an industry insider told the outlet, “There's probably no world where the two will work together again,” adding, “This is uncharted territory.”

Neither star has directly addressed the alleged animosity, which some reports say stemmed from Lively overruling Baldoni on the final cut of the film. Other rumors say Baldoni was something of a bully on set. Lively has also been criticized for promoting a film about an abusive relationship as a romantic comedy.

Then there is the matter with her husband, Ryan Reynoldsby allegedly rewriting a scene without telling Baldoni – and possibly while the writers' union was on strike in 2023.

Whatever the true story, it is obvious that the sequel to a blockbuster is not as commonplace in Hollywood as it usually is.

Baldoni's violent character Ryle plays a smaller role in the second book, but he is still a producer and owns the rights to a possible sequel, so he and Lively would have to continue working together to make the book a reality.

As for directing the sequel, he said Weekly entertainment at the premiere of the film: “I think there are better people for this. I think Blake Lively is ready to direct.”
