Breathtaking close-ups reveal the secret world of tiny mushrooms

No matter how often you go outdoors, there is always something new to discover. For example, imagine how many small mushrooms we all miss when we walk through the forest. Ryan Dale is an experienced photographer from the UK who specializes in macro photography. His photos of small mushrooms are simply stunning.

In one photo, a spot on a branch is actually a beautiful crystal-like mushroom. In another photo, a brown dot on a tree trunk is actually an alien-looking mushroom with all sorts of textures we would never otherwise see.

What makes Dale's work even more special is that he gives his audience some behind-the-scenes insights. In a recent video compilation of Dale's work, for example, you can see the tiny mushrooms on site before you see Dale's photo up close. When you see how tiny some of these mushrooms really are, the end result is even more impressive.

“Using advanced macro techniques [Dale] captures the intricate details and vibrant colors of these mushrooms often found in nature,” writes Daily Dose of Art, the media outlet that shared the compilation video on Instagram.
