Four people arrested in robbery and assault case in New Rochelle

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A 17-year-old was attacked and robbed Saturday night, leading to the arrest of an adult and three juveniles, according to New Rochelle police. The incident occurred around 10:38 p.m. on August 24 near 299 Huguenot Street, where the victim reported his cellphone and fanny pack were stolen during the robbery.

Officers responding to the call interviewed the victim, who provided names and descriptions of the suspects, some of whom he knew personally. A short time later, police located the suspects in the area, and the victim positively identified those responsible for the robbery and assault.

New Rochelle police then arrested 18-year-old Veilman Jimenez-Ramirez of New Rochelle and three male minors. Jimenez-Ramirez is being held pending arraignment in New Rochelle Municipal Court while the juveniles await arraignment by the Westchester County District Attorney's Juvenile Division.

The charges against the suspects include:

    GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania — A North Versailles woman has pleaded guilty to charges related to a serious three-vehicle crash in March 2022. Slobodanka Bulatovic, 48, entered her guilty plea before Westmoreland County Common Pleas Judge Meagan Bilik-DeFazio on August 27, 2024. Bulatovic was charged with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) after causing the crash on Route 30 near Skellytown Road in North Huntingdon Township.

    Authorities said Bulatovic was drunk at the time of the crash and failed to brake before colliding with two other vehicles. Six people were injured in the crash, although none of the injuries were considered life-threatening. North Huntingdon Township police conducted the investigation, which was crucial to the guilty plea.

    Bulatovic is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Bilik-DeFazio within the next 90 days. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Allen Powanda, who prosecuted the charges on behalf of the Commonwealth.

  • Refugee from Georgia arrested in Wikes-Barre

    WILKES-BARRE, Pa. — A Kingston man was arrested by Wilkes-Barre City Police Tuesday morning after he was identified as a fugitive from justice. Tracy Butler, 58, was arrested on South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard around 9:37 a.m. after patrol officers realized there was a warrant out for his arrest.

    The warrant was issued by the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office in Georgia, but details of the underlying charges were not released. According to Wilkes-Barre City Police, officers made contact with Butler near 33 South Wilkes-Barre Boulevard and confirmed the warrant before taking him into custody.

    Butler is currently being held pending further proceedings for his extradition to Georgia. The arrest highlights the ongoing cooperation between local and out-of-state law enforcement in apprehending individuals wanted for criminal activity across state lines.
