Lakewood man drowns while rescuing child at Delaware Water Gap: reports

BUSHKILL, PA — A 39-year-old Ocean County man reportedly died when he entered the water at the Delaware National Water Gap to rescue his child.

The man was identified by the Lakewood Scoop as Baruch Ber Ziemba. The newspaper reported he was vacationing in the Poconos with his wife and seven children when the incident occurred Monday. The report said he entered the water to save his child, but did not provide further details.

The man's body was seen 20 to 30 feet from shore in the Delaware Water Gap National Rescue Area in Bushkill, Pennsylvania, the Daily Voice reported. He was recovered shortly after 3 p.m., the report said.
