Deadly shooting in Yakima

YAKIMA – On Monday, August 26, at approximately 7:25 p.m., YPD officers responded to a shooting in the area of ​​North 6th Street and East 'F' Street.

When officers arrived, they found a 37-year-old Yakima man suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Emergency responders attempted to save the victim's life, but unfortunately, due to the severity of his injuries, the victim passed away. Next of kin have been notified, but YPD will not release the victim's identity at this time.

Criminal investigators have begun their investigation. At this point in time, the motive for this crime appears to be related to gang violence. A suspect for this incident has not yet been identified and the investigation is ongoing.
