Police: 18-year-old Palm Bay High School student faces charges for stabbing classmates

MELBOURNE, Florida. – An 18-year-old Palm Bay High School student is accused of stabbing another student in the stomach with scissors, according to Melbourne police.

Police said there was an “altercation” between two students around 1 p.m. on Monday, during which one of them was stabbed in the stomach.

According to a press release, the stabbed student was taken to the hospital, where his condition was listed as serious but stable. The injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said.

On Tuesday, police announced that Dominick Glasco was arrested in connection with the incident and faces charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and disruption of a school function.

Glasco was treated at the hospital for a cut to his hand sustained in the incident before being turned over to the Brevard County Sheriff's Office, the news release said.

Brevard Public Schools officials said the high school was placed on lockdown after the incident before the lockdown was lifted.

Melbourne police said it was an isolated incident and there was no immediate danger to the public.
