Child shot on Shawnee Drive in Burlington, police investigate

BURLINGTON, NC — Monday night at 8:18 p.m., Burlington police were called to a shooting in the 700 block of Shawnee Drive. When they arrived at the scene, officers said they found a juvenile victim who had been shot.

According to police, the victim was hospitalized and his injuries are not currently life-threatening. Investigators say no further details are known at this time and will be released as soon as they are available.
