A Red Lion man has been charged with stabbing another person with a knife during a fight last week, according to Pennsylvania State Police.

Joel McWilliams, 36, of Red Lion, was charged with attempted third-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of an assault weapon, recklessly endangering another person and other offenses, a news release said.

The 42-year-old victim suffered injuries to his cheek and neck in the stabbing, the press release states. His condition at WellSpan York Hospital is stable.

According to the press release, police officers responded to a reported stabbing in the 300 block of First Street in Red Lion at around 10:22 p.m. on August 23. They found the victim and took him to the hospital.

During an investigation, officers determined that McWilliams and the victim were involved in a physical altercation when the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the man, the release said.
