New London teen arrested in connection with Hannibal stabbing – KXEO

The following press release was sent out by the Hannibal Police Department.

On Monday, 26 August^ththe 10^th The Marion County District Court issued an arrest warrant for 18-year-old Olivia A. Malone of New London, charging her with first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and armed criminal action.

The charges stem from an incident that began around 11:19 p.m. on Sunday.

Hannibal Police responded to a report of an assault with a knife in the 400 block of Edwards.

Neither the suspect nor the victim were still at the scene, as the victim had been taken to a nearby hospital in a private vehicle.

Officers found witnesses who stated that there was a verbal argument between Malone and the victim when he stabbed the victim.

Ralls County Sheriff's officers located Malone and took her into custody without incident.

Malone was turned over to Hannibal Police Department investigators.

After questioning, she was transported to the Marion County Jail where she remains in custody. Malone's bail is set at $100,000.00 cash only.

The victim was flown to another hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
