Man seriously injured after attack while jogging

MILWAUKEE (WTMJ) – After a brutal attack, a man suffered a broken jaw and had to drink fluids for six weeks.

Daniel Allison said it started last week during a night run in Milwaukee's Lincoln Creek neighborhood.

“I had to get about 22 minutes to pass the PT test so I could go to Army retraining school,” he said.

Allison said his plans were disrupted when he was approached by a stranger.

“He gets behind me and starts yelling, 'You better run! You better run!' and then, the next moment, it's like a pitchback,” he said.

Allison said the first thing he did when he came to his senses was call his partner.

“I’m grateful she’s here,” he said.

His partner Megan Hart is an emergency call operator.

“My first thought was that I should just send someone to him immediately,” she said.

Hart said what she saw at the hospital was worse than she imagined.

“It was scary to see my partner like that. I was very worried about him and how serious the injuries might be,” she said.

The injuries are still being examined by doctors and have resulted in Allison being unable to work for at least several weeks.

Allison's sister has set up a GoFundMe campaign to help.

The person responsible for the attack was not caught.
