Police in Hadera arrest man suspected of sexually assaulting his daughter

Police in the coastal district of Hadera have arrested a 43-year-old man on suspicion of sexually assaulting his eight-year-old daughter, police said on Tuesday.

The suspect's pre-trial detention has been extended several times. On Tuesday, the public prosecutor's office filed an indictment and demanded that he be kept in pre-trial detention until the end of the proceedings.

The investigation began two weeks ago when Hadera police began investigating allegations that the man had sexually assaulted his daughter in their shared home last year.

Following the initial investigation, the suspect was taken into custody, where he has remained since then. The court has granted the police's request to continue his pre-trial detention while the case progresses.
