Stabbing in Paterson: 4-year-old stabbed to death in New Jersey; police search for victim's aunt

PATERSON, NJ — A house in New Jersey was surrounded by police – the scene of a heinous attack.

According to police, a four-year-old girl was stabbed multiple times inside the building.

Neighbors in Paterson who witnessed the horror report that the little girl's mother carried her out in her arms, covered in blood and in a panic.

According to witnesses, the mother was hysterical as her daughter was placed in the ambulance at around 4 p.m. on Friday while emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident.

Local politicians say the unimaginable violence was the result of a family dispute within the house. The obvious suspect is a family member who has emotional problems.

“It was the aunt who committed this crime and she is at large. They are currently trying to find her. When the officers were dispatched, she was not there,” said Councilman Luis Velez.

Neighbors report that the aunt was often seen pacing and talking to herself as she woke up.

The girl is in a stable condition in the hospital.
