Tragic update: Perth tradesman Shane Ramsey was seriously injured in a scooter accident in Bali

The heartbroken family of a Perth tradesman who was evacuated from Bali after being seriously injured in a scooter crash at the weekend are preparing to have his life support turned off.

Shane Ramsey, 30, had visited the holiday island to celebrate a friend's wedding when he crashed in Seminyak on Sunday morning.

He had to undergo emergency brain surgery and his relatives rushed to his bedside, waiting desperately for signs of improvement.

Ramsey, from Clarkson, never woke up again but was flown out on an emergency plane that landed in Perth on Thursday afternoon.

He was then taken by ambulance to Royal Perth Hospital, where his parents were given the heartbreaking news that his brain function would not return.
