Police urge caution – NBC Boston

Residents of Marblehead, Massachusetts, are being urged to be cautious after a woman was bitten by an animal while jogging in a park, according to police.

The incident occurred Monday near Brown Street on Marblehead Neck, which is adjacent to a wildlife refuge, according to Marblehead police.

After an investigation by animal control and the animal inspector, it was determined that the biting animal may have been a coyote.

The jogger should be fine.

According to police, this is an isolated incident and the coyote may have been startled by the jogger. Nevertheless, residents are asked to remain vigilant.

Police, animal protection and environmental police are aware of the situation and will monitor the area.
