ETFGI reports that assets invested in crypto ETFs and ETPs worldwide reached a new record of .69 billion at the end of July

LONDON27 August 2024 — ETFGI, a leading independent research and advisory firm specializing in providing subscription research on trends in the global ETF industry, reported today that assets invested in globally listed crypto ETFs and ETPs reached a new record high of $91.69 billion at the end of July. In July, globally listed crypto ETFs and ETPs raised net InFlows of US$13.65 billion, Net inflows since the beginning of the year amount to USD 59.25 billion.according to ETFGI’s July 2024 ETF and ETP Crypto Industry Landscape Analysis report, the monthly report that is part of an annual paid research subscription service. (All dollar values ​​in USD unless otherwise stated.)

Highlights

  • Global assets invested in crypto ETFs and ETPs reached a new record of $91.69 billion at the end of July, surpassing the previous record of $84.69 billion set at the end of March 2024.
  • Assets increased by 506.4% in 2024, from $15.12 billion at the end of 2023 to $91.69 billion.
  • In July, net inflows amounted to $13.65 billion.
  • Year-to-date net inflows of USD 59.25 billion are the highest in history, 2and highest annual result Net inflows in 2021 were USD 4.05 billion and in third place, year-to-date net inflows in 2022 were USD 794.02 million.

“The S&P 500 index rose 1.22% in July and is up 16.70% year-to-date in 2024. Developed markets excluding the U.S. index rose 3.37% in July and are up 8.12% year-to-date in 2024. Ireland (up 6.48%) and Belgium (up 6.42%) had the biggest declines among developed markets in July. The emerging markets index rose 0.57% in July and is up 8.70% year-to-date in 2024. Greece (up 6.93%) and the United Arab Emirates (up 6.18%) had the biggest gains among emerging markets in July,” said Deborah Fuhr, managing partner, founder and owner of ETFGI.

Asset growth of globally listed Global Crypto ETFs and ETPs as of the end of July








Since the launch of the first crypto ETP in 2015, the Bitcoin Tracker One-SEK, the number and variety of products has steadily increased. At the end of July 2024, there were 235 crypto ETFs and ETPs worldwide with 588 listings and assets of $91.69 billion from 52 providers listed on 22 exchanges in 16 countries.

Following net inflows of USD 13.65 billion and market movements during the month, Globally listed crypto ETFs and ETPs rose 23.9% from USD 73.98 billion at the end of June 2024 to USD 91.69 billion End of July 2024.

Significant inflows can be attributed to the top 20 ETFs/ETPs by net new assets, which collectively accumulated $13.78 billion in July. Grayscale Ethereum Trust (ETHE US) collected $7.11 billion, the largest single net inflow.
