Easton man arrested in connection with sexual assault of Brockton teen appears before judge – Boston News, Weather, Sports

BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) – A 21-year-old man arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a Brockton middle school student was ordered held without bail Monday.

Prosecutors said Markenson Beuge, of Easton, sexually assaulted the 13-year-old girl on her way home from West Middle School on Tuesday.

7News cameras were on the scene on Wednesday when police arrested and questioned Beuge, at which point officers released him.

Police were later able to locate and arrest Beuge at his workplace after the victim confirmed that he was the one who attacked her.

The suspect is said to have grabbed the teenager in the driveway of the house at 279 West Elm Street. According to the prosecutor's office, she escaped after a struggle and then notified the authorities.

Beuge was remanded in custody without bail and is due to appear in court again on Thursday.
