ALLIANCE, Ohio (WOIO) – The suspect in the alleged attempted kidnapping of an 11-year-old boy was arraigned Monday afternoon in Alliance Municipal Court.

According to Alliance Police, Joshua Freyermuth attempted to kidnap an 11-year-old boy on South Webb Avenue on September 22.

According to the police report, Freyermuth said to the child, “I need to talk to you,” in order to lure the eleven-year-old away from his property and his dog.

According to the report, the child refused and Freyermuth tried to grab the eleven-year-old.

According to Alliance police, the child was able to escape.

“I wasn't even there,” Freyermuth said in court. “I didn't kidnap anyone.”

The victim is also said to have stated that his dog attacked the suspect, but Freyermuth did not have any dog ​​bites, Freyermuth said in court.

Freyermuth's bail was set at $100,000 and he is prohibited from having any contact with the victim.

Freyermuth was also arrested by Alliance police on Friday for drug possession.

Police said they would continue to investigate the incident.

Freyermuth must appear in court again next Monday.
