Pakistan Election Commission cannot make decision on PTI seats

At a crucial meeting of the Election Commission chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, no agreement could be reached on the implementation of the Supreme Court's decision regarding 41 seats of the Pakistan Movement for Justice (PTI).

The four-hour meeting, chaired by Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja, discussed the Supreme Court's order regarding the 41 reserved seats for the PTI.

Despite lengthy discussions, no decision was reached.

The focus of the meeting was the implementation of the Supreme Court order requiring independent members to join the PTI and allocating reserved seats to the party.

Members of the Election Supervisory Authority, legal experts and officials participated in the discussions. However, the ECP decided to seek further consultations with legal experts and will meet again tomorrow to continue the deliberations.
