This included 12-hour shifts around the clock, sometimes extending to 36 hours.

“She did not eat anything for the last 12 hours before her death,” Harry wrote, emphasizing the physical strain her responsibility placed on her.

In addition, financial pressure weighed heavily on her as she had not paid her rent for the month, which led to harassment from her landlord.

Harry stressed that Moraa neither drank nor smoked, suggesting that she dealt with her problems internally without seeking solace in drugs.

He also stressed the importance of mental health care, especially for medical interns, whose schedules and emotional stress often go unnoticed.

“Let us pray for all the medical interns in the country because what we are going through cannot be put into words,” he continued.

The tragedy has sparked concern in the healthcare community and raised questions about the working conditions of hospital interns across the country.

Following the defendant's death, calls for reforms, such as better support systems, more humane working hours and access to mental health services, became increasingly louder.
