Wondery launches new true crime podcast “Kill List” about contract killing

Wondery has launched a new true crime podcast called “Kill List,” which follows an elaborate assassination plot on the dark web.

Produced by podcast production company Novel, Kill List follows tech journalist Carl Miller as he stumbles upon a list of people on the dark web that someone wants dead, so much so that people are willing to pay hitmen on a contract killing website to take them out.

“When the police decide not to investigate, Carl finds himself in a race against time to warn those at risk and discover the truth about the people who want them dead,” the synopsis reads. “But how do you tell a complete stranger that someone has ordered a murder? As the number of cases rapidly increases worldwide, Carl faces an increasingly urgent battle to get global authorities to intervene.”

“From the moment I first heard the shocking premise of 'Kill List,' I couldn't believe what had come to light,” said Marshall Lewy, Wondery's chief content officer. “The teams at Novel and Wondery left no stone unturned to uncover the truth through compelling reporting and storytelling. It was truly an epic investigation and the result is utterly gripping.”

Presenter Carl Miller said: “This has been the scariest, strangest and certainly most important work of my life. It was an investigation where, at times, lives were literally at stake and one that has profoundly changed many of the people involved, myself included. For four years we have had to do this work in secret and now we can finally step out into the light to tell this story.”

“Kill List” starts on October 8th.
