Gummersbach: 10 years in prison after acid attack

The court had demanded eight years in prison and two years in a rehabilitation facility for the accused. The court also awarded the woman a quarter of a million euros in damages.

The judges considered it proven that the 44-year-old had started the crime. Contrary to a psychiatric report, they declared the man fully responsible. The verdict is not yet final and the defense can appeal.
