2 people stabbed in domestic incident in Albany

Two people were hospitalized following a stabbing in Albany this afternoon.

According to police, the incident occurred around 4:20 p.m. in the 100 block of Grand Street.

When officers arrived at the scene that afternoon, they found a 37-year-old woman with a minor cut on her hand and a 13-year-old child with an injury to her mouth. Both were taken to Albany Medical Center for further treatment.

Albany police told NewsChannel 13 that this was a domestic incident.

Albany police also said they arrested Paul Smith, 38, of Albany. Smith is charged with assault, illegal possession of a firearm and endangering the welfare of a child.

Smith will be arraigned tomorrow morning in Albany City Criminal Court.
