Woman raped by successive driver in private coach – Telangana Today

One of the drivers who had offered her a seat sexually abused her and threatened her with dire consequences if the matter was discovered.

Hyderabad: A housewife was allegedly raped by a man in a private coach three days ago. The incident came to light after the victim approached the police and a case was registered against the suspect.

According to police, the victim boarded a bus at Kukatpally on Thursday to travel to Vijayawada. One of the bus drivers offered the woman a seat. When the bus reached Chotuppal on the outskirts of the city, the man who had offered her the seat sexually assaulted the woman in the bus and threatened her of dire consequences if she told anyone about it.

The woman arrived in Vijayawada and did not inform anyone. Later, when she started having health problems, the woman's family enquired about it and the victim told them about the sexual assault.

The victim and her family members went to Hyderabad and lodged a complaint with the Chotuppal police. The police did not register an FIR and handed over the case to the Kukatpally police for jurisdictional reasons. The police are investigating.
