Omaha police investigate two stabbings on Saturday and arrest one person

Omaha police arrested one person on Saturday in connection with an investigation into two stabbings.

A 64-year-old Omaha man was arrested on suspicion of second-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a crime. He is accused of stabbing a 33-year-old man near 22nd and Jones streets shortly after 6 p.m.

The victim was taken to Nebraska Medical Center. According to a police statement, his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Officials are searching for a man who stabbed a 34-year-old Omaha man near 24th and N streets around 12:10 a.m. Saturday. The victim told police he was involved in an altercation when another man struck him with a knife, slashing his stomach.

The victim was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center. His injuries are not life-threatening, a police spokesman said.
