2 people killed in head-on collision in McCormick County

McCORMICK, SC (WRDW/WAGT) – Two people died in a car crash in McCormick County Saturday night.

According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the accident occurred on US 221 near Oak Hill Drive near the Light of Life Community Church.

According to Master Trooper Gary Miller, the driver of a Mustang traveling north on US 221 lost control of his car and it crossed the center line.

It crashed head-on into a Chrysler minivan.

The driver of the Mustang was the only person in the car and is fine, according to police.

According to authorities, there were six people in the minivan and two people in the back seats of the vehicle were killed in the accident.

We are working to obtain information about the two dead people.

This is being investigated by the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
